2017 beauty trends are bold for spring and summer
Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. This is the time of the year that I start craving a fresh new look. Typically, bold hues and dramatic lines give way to pastel palettes and soft brush strokes, this time of year. But the spring and summer 2017 runways showcased a whole new theme. The 2017 beauty trends featured smoldering berry lips, dramatic glittery eyes, and even ‘no makeup, makeup looks. From the neck up, we have a round up of beauty must-haves from my favorite beauty haunt, Sephora.
Glowing Skin
That sun-kissed, bronzed glow, and dewy cheeks is the new fresh face of summer. Designers who showcased this look included Jasper Conran’s apricot cheeks, Asli Polat’s pinkish tones, Blumarine bronzed highlights, and Trussardi’s dewy glow (below).

Dramatic Eyes
The eyes have it this season. Stand out eyes were all the rage on the runway with designers such as Carolina Herrera’s deep smoky eyes, Cividini’s neon streaks, Pucci’s painterly strokes, Vivetta’s pink eyes and Rebecca Minkoffs sultry smoky eye (below), being beautiful examples of this trend. There was pretty drama too, with colorful eyes at Wunderkind, N.21, and Blugirl, who flaunted fiercely orange shadow. Shimmer took center stage too, from Aigner’s shimmery aquamarine shadow to Sabinna’s glitter streak, just below the brows.

No Makeup, Makeup
The no makeup, makeup look is the new statement beauty look for summer. Chloe’s naturally flushed look, John Galliano’s untamed bushy brows, Gucci’s victorian-inspired look, and Alexander Wang’s beachy vibe (below), make this no fuss beauty trend, everything!

Bold Lips
The lips aren’t taking a backseat to the eyes–matter of fact they are bold as ever this season, making appearances on the catwalks including DKNY’s deep wine lip, Giambattista Valli’s ruby red, Acne’s grey pout, Trussardi’s cherry red, and Cushnie Et Ochs’ fuchsia pink pucker (below).

Statement Hair
To complete these beauty looks, the hairdos were wavy, curly, braided and retro. Hair was hot on the runways with Leonard Paris’ afro chic, Chanel’s 80’s-inspired messy side pony, Givenchy’s wet-n-go look, Antonio Marras’s beehives, and San Andres Milano’s wavy micro braids (below).
