The Year of the Spy introduces a brand new spy show for the season and in case you haven’t heard the word, there’s a new agent in town. Marvel’s Agent Carter is TV’s new heroine and she hits the air waves January 6th starring Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, an agent for the super secret covert organization called the Strategic Scientific Reserve.

If Atwell looks familiar, it’s no coincidence. She portrayed Carter in Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) as the heart-broken officer who had to bid adieu to Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, when he sacrificed himself to save America. Now, in the wake of his sudden disappearance and presumed death, Peggy finds herself a single lady in the city, battling the bad guys. It’s post World War II in 1946 and at the risk of being labeled a traitor, Peggy is on a mission to clear the name of Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) – the future father of Iron Man’s Tony Stark – after he has been framed for selling deadly weapons.

But as alluring is the storyline, the fashion is just as captivating. In line with the zeitgeist of the 40s, the style in the show is sure to be chalk full of understated yet chic pieces including figure-hugging silk blouses with angular shoulder pads, knee-grazing pencil skirts with high waists, bold colored lips in red, and wavy locks with a side part. Vintage chic, bring it on!

Watch the sneak peek above and tune in to the 2-hour premiere Tuesday, January 6th at 8|7 c on ABC.
