[tps_header]The 87th Academy Awards are just a red carpet away, so our latest mission took the team back in time, albeit briefly, to uncover some of our favorite fashionable films. From a famed TV series-turned film about a quirky, but stylish columnist and her best friends to a book-to-movie adaption based loosely on one of the most iconic magazine editors of all time – we’re dishing on our faves.[/tps_header]

Fashionable-Films-The-Grand-Budapest-Hotel

This is a dazzling film recounting the exciting adventures of a lobby boy of the onetime opulent hotel in the imaginary land of the Eastern European Republic of Zubrowka. This film is an interwar period piece, which showcases the vivid and outdated Grand Budapest Hotel based on the books of Stefan Zweig. Wes Anderson, a seasoned and talented director brings these books to life with his unusual and strange sense of humor mixed with a visually stunning backdrop. Anderson offers the audience incredible and complicated characters that are impeccably dressed in classic pieces from the 1930s such as leather trenches and exquisitely tailored suits and furs. The film also features the Academy Award–winning costume designer, Milena Canonero, who has previously worked with Anderson including The Darjeeling Limited (2007) and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004).
