Interview With Writer/Director Lorene Scafaria

I was thinking, what would it do to a love story if you took forever off the table … how does that effect people’s relations and what they do with their time.

San Francisco — Even a sartorial sleuth can be a hopeless romantic, that’s why when I was invited to interview Lorene Scafaria, (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) the writer and director of the upcoming film “Seeking A Friend For the End of the World,” I jumped at the opportunity. After all, the film stars funny man Steve Carell (The Office) and the whimsical Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean) as two strangers who meet, just as the world is about to come to an end.

The interview took place at Ritz Carlton in San Francisco and Lorene was as charming as she was chic, fashioned in an adorable short yellow and white polka dot dress atop a white tee and black wedge Louboutin booties. Lorene and I discussed just about everything from working with Carell and Knightley to playing in a band with Adam Brody (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and wanting to work with Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada).
