5 Life Hacks We Can Learn From Keeping Up With the Kardashians

May 20152306Views

Whether you love them, hate them, or just enjoy Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you have to admit, since the seven years they’ve been on the scene (and on air), they’ve made an indelible impact on popular culture. We might not truly understand their skyrocket to fame in lieu of the infamous Kim K. tape that put them on our radars in the first place, but even with the bad comes some good. Here’s a roundup of life hacks that can be gleaned from the Kardashian’s reality TV drama.

Kim Kardashian

She introduced to the world via a notorious video romp with Ray J (Brandy Norwood‘s little bro) that spiraled her and the entire family, into the public eye. She was another socialite caught without her bloomers – the other being Paris Hilton. But unlike Paris, Kim has managed to milk a career, even a lifestyle out of her indiscretion and she’s not wasting any time apologizing. She turned a negative into a positive.

Lesson to be learned: Don’t get sidetracked by hurdles that pop up in your path, just glide right over the challenge with your head held high. It wouldn’t hurt to have a good momager, too!

Khloe Kardashian

She is the big sister in the bunch, figuratively speaking. She’s the youngest of the oldest three sisters, yet she’s the tallest and curviest. You know there has to be some resentment behind closed doors. And don’t forget that whole issue about whether she had the same father as Kim and Kourtney – let’s add insult to injury, why don’t we! But Khloe hasn’t let rumors push her to the back of the Kardashian clan. She’s embraced her curvy figure and keeps her little black book active, dating (and marrying) athletes and rappers. But let’s try and not hold that against her. Lesson to be learned: Don’t feel inferior to anyone or let haters shake your positive vibe. Be your own cheerleader if need be and push on.

Kourtney Kardashian

She is the bossy big sister and has drama of her own, mostly with her lifetime longterm boyfriend Scott Disick. He’s a hot mess, but maybe we should cut him some slack because he suffered the loss of both parents. Even though Kourtney is always giving him a rundown on what he’s doing wrong – you know the whole drinking and partying gig he actually gets paid for? Well, it has her quite often perturbed and she has refused his numerous proposals, vowing not to marry him until he gets his act together.

Lesson to be learned: Don’t settle in life or love. You’re worth the best. Kourtney might have missed the memo, but if a guy isn’t worth marrying he’s probably not a good daddy candidate either.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner

They may be the baby sisters in the family, but they haven’t gotten lost in the shuffle. Instead of becoming shrinking violets to their big sisters, they’ve forged a path of their own via a joint collaboration on a book and clothing line. Kendall has even become a model sensation.

Lesson to be learned: Don’t lurk in the shadow of anyone – whether it be a parent, sibling, or friend – make your mark. The world is waiting!

Kris Jenner

She may be mom of the Kardashian crew, but she’s also their friend, confidant, and manager. She takes a lot of slack from her daughters but sticks with them through thick and thin. She took what would be a mom nightmare (the Kim video thing again) and built a family empire off her daughter’s mishap. She may not win mom of the year, but there’s no arguing she’s a tenacious business woman. She even coined the term momager and trademarked it! Yes, she’s savvy alright.

Lesson learned: Don’t back down from a challenge. You might encounter something that’s difficult to navigate, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take control of the situation and flip it in your favor.

Bonus

For a family who likes to expose it all, they really know how to keep a BIG family secret (a.k.a. Bruce Jenner).

Lesson Learned: Don’t share all the family intel, some things should just be a family affair, until of course the right time comes, like a national interview with Diane Sawyer.
