After watching Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, all I can think of are the death-defying stunts. There’s no secret that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is one of my favorite onscreen spies. Whether you’re a fan of the franchise or just love watching action flicks, this film will bring you to the edge of your seat.
There’s typically enough action in ‘Mission Impossible’ films with some to spare for other movies that don’t quite measure up. In the latest installment, they managed to up the ante, featuring non-stop action in the air, on land, and under water. Two new characters are introduced in ‘Rogue Nation’: Alec Baldwin as Alan Hunley, the head of the CIA and Rebecca Ferguson as British spy girl Ilsa Faust. Ilsa gives Ethan a run for his money and even manages to slip by his super spy radar.
Shockingly, Ferguson has as many butt-kicking scenes as Cruise and definitely more than the other actors that make up the top secret IMF team including Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames. Of all the female leads to Cruise’s Hunt, he met his match with Ferguson. She’s strong, clever, and determined. I’d go as far to say Ilsa is the female version of Ethan. Only time will tell if she’ll return in future ‘Mission Impossible’ films, but with the dynamic she delivered, count on it!
