News Brief: Jones Buys Weitzman, Riccardi Diesel CEO, Versace Wins Suit

Jones Apparel Group Inc. will have controlling interest of Stuart Weitzman Holdings LLC, after they acquire 55 percent of the shoe and accessory company.

Daniela Riccardi, formerly of Procter & Gamble, to head up Diesel as chief executive officer.

Versace gets a victory in a $20 million law suit after winning a seven-year battle with Tres Hermanos Inc. and Monir Awada, who violated trademark laws by using the Versace logo on merchandise including jeans and t-shirts. [WWD]
