On-Screen Style: Mad About Plaid

On-Screen Style: Mad About Plaid

By now it’s well known that Jennifer Hudson will be in the long-awaited Sex and the City movie as Louise (Carrie’s assistant).
With a bevy of stylish divas on set (and their knock ’em dead wardrobe) I am dying to see the chic gear that her character dons.
Word on the set is that Patricia Fields (stylist extraordinaire who styled Sex and the City the series and The Devil Wears Prada) has once again lent her fashion-forward skills to the SATC cast. From the looks of things, she not only has serious sartorial skills with the lithe Manhattan BFFs, but she can make the curvacious newcomer look good too.
What really makes this high-glam look hot is the punchy plaid pattern in her boots and handbag, proving that this season (and in seasons to come) plaid will be a to-do trend.
Here are a few of my “mad plaid” picks:
A jazzy handbag like the navy plaid Betsey Be Good Hobo, $250 at betseyjohnson.com.

A classy plaid-emprinted compact like the Estée Lauder Gold Tartan Compact, $55 at nordstrom.com.
A sassy pair of heels like the charcoal plaid “Whitney” wool slingbacks, $180 at jcrew.com.
A snazzy watch like the plaid-trimmed leather Burberry watch, $325 at burberry.com.
