The infamous holiday sweater gets a makeover for your office party.
Soon to hit the big screen is “Office Christmas Party” starring Jennifer Aniston as a CEO who decides to lay off her brother (T.J. Miller). Her brother is the company’s branch manager and in response, he decides to throw an epic party to land a big client. This tongue-in-cheek comedy sounds hilarious and is definitely on my radar, but I can’t help but think about all the ways a ‘revenge’ office party can wrong. Let’s start with fashion’s most infamous Christmas trend, the holiday sweater. It’s usually marked by kitschy designs, excessive embellishments, and sometimes with a kaleidoscope of Christmasy colors including red and green similar to the sweater Katy McKinnon sports in the film (pictured below). For my latest fashpionage mission, I want to dispel the myth of the horrible holiday sweater and showcase a few festive knit coverups that actually have chic designs from gold glittery lips to sequined bows. The infamous holiday sweater gets a makeover for your holiday party—no holiday motifs here! Shop the looks below.
