New York — New York Fashion Week is known for featuring an endless parade of fashions from some of the most notable designers in the industry including Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, and Diane Von Furstenberg.
But, not only the veterans reign supreme during this fashion extravaganza, so too do the emerging talents. We've seen them present their debut collections and rise to be highly coveted from Zac Posen to Narciso Rodriguez. Now there's a new girl in town, womenswear designer Korto Momolu from Bravo TV's Project Runway Season 5, where she was named fan favorite and was a runner up.
Born in Monrovia, Liberia and raised in Canada, the avant garde designer presented her 14-piece Autumn/Winter 2012 collection entitled "Monaco," at the art deco Bryant Park Hotel's Cellar Bar. The collection is inspired by Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly and actress Bridget Bardot, with an aesthetic theme of femininity, elegance and futurism.
