Once again, Janet Jackson is showing us just how in control she is — we’ve known that MJ’s little sis’ was a multi-talented power house, but now she’s decided to exercise her designing chops with a lavish new line of lingerie.
Miss Jackson has joined the ranks of a bevy of designing divas launching their own brand of wearables including Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Lopez, and Gwen Stefani. She has teamed up with Autrailian-based designer Bruno Schiavi to create Pleasure Principle. Sound familiar? It’s inspired by the 1987 hit of the same title on her Grammy Award-winning album Control.
Working with celebs isn’t new for the Aussie designer — he partnered with Dr. Robert Ray (from Dr. 90210 on the E! Network) to introduce Dr. Ray’s Shapewear. Schiavi says he and Jackson were inspired to create a line that “makes women feel sexy, flirtatious and provocative.”
The collection features frilly fabrics like satin and lace in rich hues such as burgundy, beige, silver, and peach. There will be 14 designs with a variety of bra styles ranging in size from a 32A to 44G.
