Mission: Lulu’s Style Studio Visits the Valley

Phoenix — Last night I had a fab evening at Lulu’s Style Studio held at monOrchid Art Gallery. The California-based online retailer is known for carrying vintage-inspired confections with a modern twist. The event was quite festive with giveaways, complementary makeovers, and a spin-the-wheel game with a bevy of prizes from gift cards to fashions from Lulu’s.

There were a variety of pieces featured at the sartorial event from casual to formal. I am such a fan of high-low mixing (blending high end fashion with less expensive pieces), and Lulu’s has adorable looks that would be perfect for creating a high-low look.

I spotted two chic pieces (above); the “Fuzzy Dice” ivory sequin sweater, $51, which had a mohair texture, embroidered black dots and a sequin Peter Pan collar; and the vegan leather “Turbocharger” color block clutch, $36. These would look great styled with the Citizen of Humanity “Rocket” waxed high-rise legging jeans, $230 (below), from net-a-porter.com. Can’t you just envision “Gossip Girl” Serena van der Woodsen sporting this ensemble?
