The safari look is nothing new to lifestyle designer, Ralph Lauren. He has created collections fashioned around an African safari theme before. But this time it appears the eponymous designer took inspiration from the Middle East for his latest voyage into desert style.
There’s an air of mystery to the saucy collection that I can only describe as “Indiana Jones” meets “Lara Croft.” I love the rich brown hues that range from soft camel to deep umber. To add sophistication to the earthy line, shimmery metallic gold and silk satin were used.
If you’re going to rock the safari look this spring, make sure to embellish your wardrobe with a few essential accessories like a fabulous cross-the-body messenger bag, an uber long chiffon scarf for head and shoulder wrapping, and a rich mahogany brown leather-braided belt for your hip-slung trousers. A canteen might look cute, too — fill it with your favorite spring water or sport it purely for its safari aesthetic.
