Vivienne Tam served up the quintessential avant garde fashion show during New York Fashion Week Spring 2009. Her models didn’t wear turn-of-the-century bustle skirts or neon wigs and striped leggings, instead, they sashayed down the catwalk in dresses, tops, and jackets fashioned from Chinese-inspired floral prints with peony motifs in violet and deep persimmon. So what’s so avant garde about that? The frilly floral designs were accented by mini digital notebooks cleverly disguised as clutches.

Tam and Hewlett Packard teamed up to create the HP Vivienne Tam Special Edition Notebook (below), which measures about 10 inches and is expected to come out next year. [LAPTOP MAG] What do you think of a designer laptop?
