NEW YORK — I've featured and interviewed my favorite emerging designer from the spring 2014 runway and now it's time for my favorite collection from seasoned veteran, Ralph Lauren. Style.com doesn't seem to share my sentiment and suggests Lauren's spring looks are off trend in comparison to what other designer's presented. But that's just what makes his designs so covetable – he's always sure to deliver the unexpected. The first look he sent down the runway was a long sleeve black shift dress with white collar that he paired with black knee socks and Mary Jane shoes. Atypical of the usually classic preppy designer, the look was reminiscent of the stoic Wednesday from "The Addams Family" but with a softer vibe. What resonated with me most were the kaleidoscope of prints including plaid, stripe, floral, and a geometric pattern. To balance these striking black and white ensembles, Lauren sent vibrant hues down the catwalk including neon orange, lime green and electric blue.
