GLOBAL — Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you have that special someone that you want to dazzle with lovely lingerie, you may be on the hunt for the perfect look to make his eyes pop. On my latest mission, I spotted a vibrant boudoir ensemble from Agent Provocateur including the Novah neon lace-trimmed stretch-silk satin robe, $565, Zuri embroidered tulle bra, $170, and coordinating brief, $150. To get the scoop on selecting the lingerie, I recently caught up with Shaneia Caldwell founder of scottaintimates.com, an online boutique that carries an array of lingerie from fun and flirty to sultry and sexy. When it comes to lingerie shopping, Caldwell advises women to be confident in whatever they choose. “Confidence is sexy and if you feel insecure about what you’re wearing, it will show,” she says. Check out more of her lingerie buying and wearing tips below.
Color
Choose colors and styles that will accentuate your skin tone and curves. When in doubt about the best color, black is always chic and sexy. Men are fans of black and it makes most women look slimmer.
Fit
The key to wearing flattering lingerie is to make sure that it fits well. You should look comfortable and not frumpy in the styles that you choose. If you are constantly pulling and adjusting, it may not be the right size for you. One way to know your exact size is to get your bust, waist, and hips measured.
Coordinate
If you are going out on a date and want to slip something sexy underneath your little black dress, opt for a lace matching push-up bra, panties, and garter belt with thigh-highs. And yes matching matters so choose a set that is pretty but basic.
Looks from Scotta Intimates l. to r. mesh lace cami and shorts, $34.99; flirty lace babydoll, $28.99; zebra bustier and garter, $38.99.
Chicly Yours,
