A collaboration between super model Naomi Campbell and mega photog David LaChapelle results in nothing short of artistic genius. Campbell graces the cover of the “The Eden Issue: Nothing Lasts Forever” of Flaunt magazine in a shoot entitled, ” The Rape of Africa.”
LaChapelle is the quintessential provocateur and his latest work serves as evidence. An obvious nod to Italian Renaissance master Sandro Botticelli’s “Venus and Mars,” the sure to be controversial image depicts Campbell with American model Caleb Lane. Campbell and Lane are sprawled out surrounded by the spoils of decadence, flanked by children holding weapons, and a city being reconstructed serves as backdrop.
Cheers to a photographer and a magazine willing to push creativity to the edge!
