Who is not on a budget these days! It’s tough to keep up with fashion but there are certain pieces of clothing that will never go out of style and they will allow you to mix and match so you don’t have to spend all your money on clothes.
One or Two Button Black Blazer
Blazers are in and I love it because this is such a functional piece in any wardrobe. You can throw in a t-shirt and a pair of jeans and there you go, a cute outfit for a lunch date, or add a sexy top and there it is, your party outfit. There are different styles out there, 3-quarter and long sleeve, at-the-hip or long lengths. If you go for the hip length, it will accentuate your curves, and the long sleeves can always be folded if you want to go for a more casual look. Another choice is the tuxedo jacket which is definitely in style right now. It is wearable for pretty much every occasion, depending on what you pair it with.
Skinny Jeans
They have been back for a while and here to stay. Skinny jeans are a must in any wardrobe these days, but you won’t need one in every color. A darkwash or black, and a lightwash or grey should suffice. They are the most functional type of jeans as they can be worn with any type of shoes; pumps, boots, sandals, flats, you name it!
High Waisted Black Skirt
I could’ve gone for the infamous little black dress here, but instead I recommend this type of skirt for a couple of reasons. I purchased one and I was the happiest to find out that I could wear it with pretty much all my tops, even the tank tops! The best part is that you will actually end up looking like you are wearing a dress, a different dress everytime! Throw in a wide belt and voila, one more dress without spending the extra cash.
Jewelry and More Jewelry
It doesn’t have to be expensive, but it’s amazing how much difference a necklace makes when you are wearing a simple t-shirt and a blazer. And you don’t need to spend much. Try getting one item in your favorite style of long or short necklaces, a couple of long earrings, a couple of oversize stone rings, or even about a brooch. Tasteful jewelry makes any outfit look modern and sophisticated.
Pumps
They are good style for any season, a neutral color preferable so you can wear them to work.
Remember, it’s not about quantity but quality! keep your eyes open for subjects of inspiration, the simplest look might get people looking at you and wonder, how did she pull that off?
