One of the style characteristics I inherited from my mother was her love for Coach. She has an array of bags that she has collected since the 70s–my favorite is a rich mahogany saddle bag with their signature turnkey lock on the flap and a belted-style strap with buckle. The retro aesthetic is a hark back to the Boho chic vibe of the era, featuring embellished caricatures, floral designs, and western motifs. That’s why I’m excited about the Coach Spring 2017 collection–it’s a nod to the 70s with a mod twist. If the “Welcome Back, Kotter” (1975) series had an all female cast, this is what they would wear–there’s even a couple of pieces to steal from the boys; a red moto jacket and happy face tote.
