Preppy prints and tailored silouhettes make for a classic look. I just love the preppy trend that never really goes away and the prints that have become synonymous with this homage to the ivy league.
I must confess, I may be a bit partial to the look after more than a decade of private schools where the required dress code included plaids skirts, navy cardigans and crisp white shirts.
But with the preppy look that has made a fashionable return this fall, the prints run the gamut from plaids in tartan and argyle to the prints of rugby and pinstripe.

Now, we all know the reining king of this look is none other than Ralph Lauren (yes, one of my favorite designers), but this season I am quite impressed with J. Crew and the frolicking twist they’ve put on the look that can sometimes appear austere.
Their “Love Paris” behind-the-scenes video footage is reminiscent of homemade videos that capture a young woman and her paramour posing near the Eiffel Tower, a canal and in the park.
Just check out the J. Crew Fall Lookbook, it’s tres chic. I bet they’ll have loafers and oxfords too, I can’t wait.
