[tps_header]When I spied the Chanel Fall 2015 Collection online while gathering intel for my next Paris Fashion Week mission, I was excited to see the restaurant style setup dubbed Brassiere Chanel – last fall it was a supermarket and this past spring, a street filled will feminist protestors. But, after scrolling past a few looks, I instantly became disenchanted with the brand I had come to revere as fashion-forward. A few fashion faux pas from eponymous designer Karl Lagerfeld – the design maestro for Chanel and Fendi – were glaringly obvious. Lagerfield is all over the place with this collection, from the Bohemian-inspired dresses to the preppy-influenced coats. It’s like he’s taken every fashion trend and cliché, wrapped it up and rolled it out as a collection. However, there were some looks featuring coats that would even make uber chic Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl, swoon.
Overall, this collection fell short of my normal expectations. But maybe I’m looking at it all wrong. The Chanel Fall 2015 Collection may not get my seal of approval when it comes to street wear, but the looks could make great disguises on my next covert mission – that is if the occasion calls for something that resembles a Yeti or passes for Eliza Doolittle.[/tps_header]
[tps_title]Cara Unattractive and Dumpy[/tps_title]
First of all, Lagerfeld actually managed to make British supermodel Cara Delvingne look not only unattractive (they kind of went heavy-handed with the androgynous makeup), but dumpy too. Who knew that was even possible? The dumpy factor really caught me off guard considering Lagerfeld is known for his views on plump girls. He once lamented that “No one wants to see curvy women” and has even been rumored to have called singing sensation Adele, fat.
