Berlin — German brand Laurèl, which was launched as a diffusion line for Escada in 1978, put on quite a presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) in Berlin before a crowd of fashion insiders, celebrities, and socialites from actor Jason Lewis, who played Smith Jerrod in "Sex and the City" to Countess Tamara von Nayhauss of Prussia.
The contemporary line, which first presented during MBFW in 2010, created an atmosphere of a tropical beach boardwalk that commenced on the red carpet as guests were greeted with a cool treat from a vintage-inspired ice cream cart. Inside the show, the fashions that hit the catwalk were bold and bright, reminiscent of the color palette of a tropical destination.

The designs looked as desirable as the dessert, offering a broad style range from an asymmetrical gingham check dress that would be perfect for a stroll on Malibu Beach, to a silk tunic dress in a vibrant collage of color with a sequined neckline that would be befitting a voyage to the Greek islands of Southern Europe.
The collection makes this sartorial sleuth want to make a great escape to white sand beaches surrounding crystal blue waters filled with brilliantly colored fish.
