New York — There's just something to be said about a fashion designer who always gets it right. Oscar de la Renta is one such designer. For his spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, he showcased a mesmerizing array of dresses, shorts, and suits. It was an elegant parade of fashions, in true Oscar style, of course. It was a modern revival of the 40s and 50s. Retro-styled dresses embellished with lace and vintage-inspired bouclé suits were just the tip of the iceberg. The lithe models sported chic updo's with streaks of pink or teal, adding a contemporary twist. It was a look a modern Marie Antoinette would adore!
Oscar de la Renta is a designer who gets women; from her desires to her physique. Each look that cascaded down the runway was tautly tailored. Whether the silhouette was a dress with an empire waist and full skirt or a blouse with a fitted bodice paired with a pencil skirt, the looks were perfectly polished.
I can't wait to see some of these pieces hit the red carpet!
