San Francisco — I had the pleasure of spending the evening at Tiffany & Co., celebrating the launch of their new metal jewelry collection called RUBEDO, in honor of the company's 175th anniversary.
The rose-hued metal is a melding of gold, copper, and silver and has a lovely luminescence that Tiffany describes as “the richness of gold, the brilliance of silver and the warmth of copper.” This was elegantly captured in cinemagraphs, which are still photographs that have one or two small moving elements such as flyaway hair or blinking eyes. New York artists Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg created the cinemagraphs.

Guests at the chic soirée sipped cocktails and nibbled hors d' oeuvres while mingling with Tiffany executives including Ray Raby Group Director and Tom Carroll Vice President of Northwest & Pacific Region, who shared with me the whereabouts of the Tiffany Diamond. We also enjoyed a live model exhibit of the collection and could try on pieces from the collection ranging from a pendant with silver and RUBEDO rings to interlaced bangles and an oversized cuff. Each piece from the collection is inscribed with Tiffany's founding date and the founder's signature.
