Global — We’ve all seen someone who has defied all rationale and done the unthinkable in the name of fashion or beauty like Lady Gaga wearing an outfit made entirely of meat or Jocelyn Wildenstein undergoing a gazillion surgeries to achieve the look of a lion. These are quite extreme so it’s easy to dismiss them as flights of fancy, or possibly rare lunacy. But some of the little things we do in our daily primping rituals, from waxing our eyebrows to sporting sky-high heels that pinch and cramp our toes, could be viewed by some as a bit “out there.”
I recently spotted these uber insane pair of “front heel” shoes called Scary Beautiful, designed by South African student artist Leanie van der Vyver, to challenge the fashion industry’s beauty ideals. The heels have the appearance of a backwards ballerina shoes, and as awkward as they appear in this photo, they are equally awkward on the model that attempts to stagger across a room while wearing them. Watch the video below and decide if you’d add these to your accessory arsenal.
