Global — Hot off the press, Women's Wear Daily (WWD) has delivered some scoop on costuming for the upcoming film The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic), Tobey Maguire (Spiderman), and Carey Mulligan (Drive). Everything about this film has me in hysterics (in a good way of course). Since I first read the novel as a young sartorial sleuth, I was fascinated by the allure of the opulent and decadent world of Jay Gatsby. Who wouldn't be?

Although the film isn't slated to be released until Christmas 2012 [The film is now scheduled to be released in May 2013], we've been regaled with a teaser in the high-octane trailer (below) and now we know more about the costumes, too. According to WWD, Brooks Brothers worked with Academy Award-winning costumer Catherine Martin, wife of the film's director Baz Luhrmann, to produce more than 500 day and evening looks; and Tiffany & Co. created the luxurious jewels for the film … more to come soon!
