Mommy and Me Hollywood Style

From Nicole Richie’s newborn daughter, Harlow Winter Kate, to Jessica Alba and Jennifer Lopez’s recent pregnancy announcements, it seems like many young celebrities are preparing for parenthood. Perhaps it’s something in the water — bottled and imported or course!

Forget toting around your mini purebred, it’s the “mini-me” that is in this year. And just like their fashionable folks, celebrity kids have amazing styles all their own. Leader of the Pack: Zahara Jolie-Pitt (left)
Though the stunning, humanitarians known as the Jolie-Pitt family (kids include Pax, Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh) are approaching Brady Bunch sized proportions, it’s their eldest girl, Zahara, who seems to be the style star of the family. She is only three years old but Zahara, who is often referred to as “Princess Zee,” has a feisty spirit and seems to be following in her mom Angelina’s fashionable footsteps. In fact, Angelina had her favorite Valentino Braided Leather shoulder bag replicated into a toddler sized purse for Zahara, and the two were seen sporting their matching bags as they shopped in Manhattan. Although Zahara frequently wears glittery sandals, sundresses and could be qualified as a “girly girl,” (she received lots of dress up princess gowns and dolls over the holidays), she isn’t afraid to share tee shirts with her brothers, especially when she’s “roughing it.” Whether she’s riding in a stroller next to little sister Shiloh, walking to pre-school with a big turquoise backpack or running in the park with her dad Brad, Zahara always sports fun bangles, and pretty charm necklaces. Clearly, Zahara likes to mix it up!

With her modish bob haircut and designer threads, not to mention she’s the offspring of two of the most famous and talented parents (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes), little Suri Cruise may be the most demurely dressed gal in Hollywood’s under age five bracket! From Ralph Lauren to Burberry, from Armani to Chloe, this blue-eyed brunette has an enviable wardrobe, her clothing highlighted with a girlish panache. The one-and-a-half-year-old wore custom Armani to her parents’ wedding in 2006. In November 2007, Suri became Christian Louboutin’s youngest client. It was rumored that mom Katie ordered a custom pair of shoes for her young daughter. The price tag: $3,000! Suri is indeed a very lucky girl. She sits in private booths at Spice Girl concerts, she even hosts soirees. Last fall Suri and family hosted a Madeleine themed tea party. It appears as if Suri is a little fashionista at heart. Suri can often be found shopping in Paris, New York and Los Angeles with her mom Katie, an activity both gals enjoy. As they say, like mother like daughter.

Although Coco Riley Cox-Arquette has a pair of A-list parents (Courteney Cox and David Arquette), a famous godmother named Jennifer Aniston, and a house steps away from the beach, this 3-year-old beach bunny displays a fun style all her own. An aficionado of accessories, the little blonde is categorically a California girl.  Coco often dons colorful hair ties and bucket hats, she’s even been seen glamming it up with star shaped plastic sunglasses. Coco knows what’s up when it comes down to L.A gals like herself. Akin to her famous family, Coco is an imaginative kid who loves to move. Attending a Lakers games or swimming at the beach, she is always dancing. A tap and ballet performer, Coco’s activity of choice influences her happy-go-lucky outfits. In fact, she is most often seen in striped leggings, pastel tutus and of course, glittery ballet flats.

Just like her famous parents (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner) two-year-old Violet Affleck loves to be outdoors. This fall, because her mom was acting in the Broadway play, Cyrano de Bergerac, Violet temporarily relocated to Manhattan, where she had to endure some chilly weather; a big change from her sunny home of Los Angeles. But not even the dropping temperatures bothered this little busy bee! Because the paparazzi follow her every move, Violet is always prepared for a photo op in her stylish duds with a huge smile and her signature adorable dimples. Violet loves to play in the park and wheel around on a tricycle. In those rare moments of exhaustion, she snuggles up to a soft, bright pink blanket tucked inside her stroller while dad sips some Starbucks. Her staples, which include fur, trimmed hooded jackets, striped tops, corduroy overalls and an extremely adorable hounds tooth coat, shows us that you can indeed look stylish and comfortable at the same time. What sets Violet apart from the rest of her celebrity pals would be her affinity for decorative hats — knit beanies, fleece dog-ears and even a pink and purple jester styled cap (with matching mittens). Violet’s flair for accessorizing is visible — finding her perfect alias perhaps? No matter what they are wearing, it’s nice to see that the kids come first — even in the most famous families.
