TV Show: Lipstick Jungle
Character: Victory Ford
Based upon a novel written by Candace Bushnell (the brains behind Sex and the City), Lipstick Jungle is a chick-lit aficionado’s dream come true!
Following three businesswomen in New York City, the show features a great cast — Brooke Shields plays uptight working mom Wendy — and, of course, the ladies’ fabulous style doesn’t hurt either, and justifiably, the folks at NBC are milking this factor with all they’ve got.
The shows official website is chockfull of fashion-forward info; they have a “buy the look” section that directs viewers to where they can buy exact pieces that the main characters Wendy, Nico and Victory wear, and a feature dubbed “shopisodes” where viewers can watch the exact scene in which the outfit was worn! And while every character on the show possesses the exemplary Manhattan-chic vibe, it’s Victory who steals the show with her abundance of marvelous garb.
As a young, talented fashion designer, Victory Ford, played by Lindsay Price, was the quintessential Manhattan fashionista — that is until her recent runway show received less than flattering reviews that resulted in a major lifestyle downsize. Adjusting to the change of trading in her high rise New York office for an at home studio or coping with her various personal and business catastrophes, she still manages to get by in style. Even in the simplest black shift, Victory’s addition of accessories like handbags and scarves or the occasional hat, add a youthful funky edge to her ensembles.
Victory’s personal style never fails to thrive! And while she’ll don designer gear such as a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress or a pair of Christian Louboutin leopard print wedges, she mixes it up with inexpensive pieces, too. Victory has worn things like a pair of Forever 21 hoop earrings and a Gap tank top, but not without Marc Jacobs boots or a Jimmy Choo electric blue bag, of course.
Here are accessories that would fit in this fashionista’s closet (and your’s too) — dare I say — victoriously?
