This season we’ve seen myriad collections feature transparent fashions from figure-hugging tunics to frilly frocks. But nothing this raunchy. Olivier Theyskens‘ collection for Nina Ricci has some interesting details like dresses cut high in the front with fishtail trains in the back, cut-out three-quarter sleeves, and inside out seams, but the real jaw dropper are the looks with see through bodices. That wouldn’t be as shocking if not for the fact that there was nothing beneath them.
Then there was the panties with a tuxedo style jacket. It looks like Theyskens went a bit overboard with the idea of underwear as outerwear. I was hard-pressed to find a high note in the collection. If there was a light (although dim) at the end of this tunnel it had to be in the choice of luxurious fabrics. There were gowns galore in silk georgette and satin. There also was this fashion-forward leather riding suit with jodhpur-esque pants and curved collar jacket.
What are your thoughts on the Ricci collection?
