The Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs trunk show is online at nordstrom.com and the looks are enviable …
Like the little black dress that makes a big impact. The satin bow is perfectly placed on the cotton twill bow dress (thank goodness it’s not on the derrière). There’s so much happening with this ebony frock — Peter Pan collar, satin bow, jersey top, ribbed skirt, and an exposed silver-tone zipper in the back … but there’s a frivolity about it that makes it work.
The Electric Miss Marc tee is a testament to Jacobs’ humor — remember his portrayal of Andy Warhol on the cover of the June issue of Interview magazine? This vibrantly embellished, signature character t-shirt would add flair to any jean and boot combo (metallic ballet flats would be cute, too).
Both Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O. would have absolutely adored this Bramble tweed top. The boxy cut, funnel neck, and buckle details makes this 60s-inspired look perfectly posh. Do pair this top with a very skinny, black pencil skirt and chunky heels — oh so chic.
Preppies everywhere should revel at the site of this two-tone “Twinsie” cardigan. It has the appearance of a twin set but its only one sweater; the look of layering without the bulk. So fab this would be with a tartan plaid, mini pleated skirt and opaque tights — a look a Gossip Girl would love. Check out the uneven construction down the back of the cardigan … love it!
This dress is tubular! Literally speaking, the “Scribble Houndstooth” dress is shaped like a tube with a slight bubble effect in the back. Jacobs’ has succeeded at creating an edgy shift dress that includes a buckle detail at the neckline, puffy sleeves, and a banded back hem that’s lower than the front. Opaque black tights and Mary Janes would set off this chic look.
