San Francisco — Former Macy’s Passport model and fashion show producer Charleston Pierce, partnered with the non-profit Fashion Your Mind Organization (FYMO) — which is dedicated to educating and inspiring fashion entrepreneurs — to present the 2nd annual FYMO “Give To Live” Charity Fashion Show.
The luxe event, which benefitted cancer patients in the Bay Area, took place in a penthouse high above the city at The Westin St. Francis in Alexandria’s Ballroom and Victor’s Palace. While enjoying the amazing view of the city from the French pane windows, guests could immerse themselves in a lavish evening playing Casino Royal, sipping champange, and mingling while models draped in designer fashions circled the room.
The fashion show itself was a well-choreographed spectacular showcasing avant-garde designs from Gelareh Couture, as well as vintage inspired looks reminiscent of something you might spot on an episode of “Mad Men.” The show had it’s racy moments too, as boxer-clad male models strutted the runway flanked by glamorous models wearing swimwear.
There was even a heart-touching moment when FYMO founder and CEO Tiffany Mays, who shared a story about the loss of her mother to cancer, presented her tearful grandmother with a certificate of appreciation for her strength and support.
Entertainment was just as captivating with singing by America’s Got Talent contestant Lawrence Beamen, who belted rhythmic tunes in a deep baritone that would have made Barry White faint of heart — his sound was enough to send a shiver down your spine. From the responese of the boisterous women in the audience, it did just that! Ah, what a fetching fête it was.
