It was a star-filled evening on the 2016 Billboard Music Awards red carpet and I was on the scene to witness songst. night was full of fashion statements and emotional tributes—some chic and others a shock. Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Mila Kunis, and Kelly Rowland were the chicest, bringing out the glitz and glamour.
Celine Dion dazzled in a shimmery gold gown as she accepted the Icon Award with her son by her side. There were no dry eyes in the building after she thanked her family and beloved husband Rene Angelil.
Laverne Cox, Jessica Alba, Kristen Bell, and Heidi Klum wore black the best while Britney Spears and Z LA LA tried, but failed.
Songstress Demi Lovato performed her single “Cool For the Summer” sporting a black shirt featuring a bathroom symbol that supported the transgender community and black knee-high boots while DNCE rocked out in a blue and yellow wardrobe ensemble. They looked amazing!
Kesha kept it very simple with a pantsuit—on the red carpet and on stage. Her nod to Prince didn’t go unnoticed. Madonna wore a light purple suit—a fantastic choice for her tribute to the musical legend.
Last, but not least was Rihanna, who donned an elegant ensemble, rather than her usual risqué look.
