The Paris-born fashion maven was the editor-in-chief of American Vogue from 1963 to 1971 and reigned as the supreme tastemaker, arguably the pivotal character to catapult Vogue to its iconic status. She's to contemporary fashion what Andy Warhol is to the Pop Art, launching the career of Vogue's uber eccentric contributing editor André Leon Talley. She brought an avant-garde perspective to fashion publishing that had not been seen before her tenor at the iconic magazine.
Now there's a documentary out in theaters and on DVD entitled Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel, exploring Vreeland's career and life as a legendary fashion aficionada. The film is showing at select theaters across the country. Check for your city HERE or get it on iTunes.
