[tps_header]GLOBAL — I recently screened the highly-anticipated superhero flick Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it didn’t disappoint. In a closing scene from the first installment of the Marvel Comics-adapted film, Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America (Chris Evans), finds himself in New York more than 50 years into the future after his plane crashed and was lost during the World War II era. In the latest film, he’s living in Washington D.C. and trying to settle into his new life as a modern day soldier, which proves difficult when he discovers his life and the lives of his comrades are in danger. But, of all the superheroes who have battled evil to save the world, I can’t help but think Captain America is the coolest. He’s not a suave heir with a shiny red suit or a dark knight in shining armor – he’s the quintessential good guy. Not because he grew up on a farm in the midwest or is a studious bookworm, but because he knows what it’s like to be the underdog. That’s what I enjoyed most about this film. Captain America isn’t only taking down the bad guys, he’s battling the bully. Here’s five reasons Captain America is the coolest superhero ever; and why you’ll want to put this film on your radar!
