The “A-Team” minus Mr. T as B.A. Baracus is the best way to describe the action packed film The Losers. This flick was chock full of bombs exploding, cars crashing, and firearms popping — as one would expect. It was about as cliche as this type of film gets from the kick-arse, literally, love interest of the brooding save-the-day hero to quick-hitting quips like, “You just been chopper jacked fellas.”
But, for a shoot ’em dead, blow ’em up kind of movie, “The Loser” had quite a few humorous moments. Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), with his surfer boy looks and Zoe Saldana (Star Trek) with her bad girl moxie serve as the film’s token eye candy. While actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural) and Jason Patric (Speed 2 and The Lost Boys) rein as the determined hero and vengeful villain.
The premise of this film surrounds a band of special op soldiers on a mission in South America to terminate a bad guy when they find themselves left for dead and stranded in landlocked Bolivia, from what appears to be an inside job. With seemingly no way out, they head back to America after making a rogue deal with a possible femme fatale (Zoe Saldana), in order to reclaim their lives and clear their names.
It may not be a blockbuster, but it’s definitely entertaining!
