Los Angeles — I recently caught up with Zoe Alexander, a journalist, author and owner of Poetrie.com, an online boutique chock full of chic confections from fashion to beauty. As a journalist, Alexander covers high-profile red carpet events from the Emmys to the Oscars. As an author, she co-wrote "Destiny's Style: Bootylicous Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle Secrets from Destiny's Child" with Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother.

Alexander has been a style correspondent for a bevy of media outlets including E!, Fox, and TV Guide, and currently hosts her own radio show, "The Zoe Alexander Connection" in Hollywood. She's also the founder of Divas Who Dine, a networking organization for high-profile career women. With such a chic dossier, I just had to know what was on her radar. Here's her picks!

Moleskine Notebook –  “Ideas come to me randomly; usually when I’m driving, running on the treadmill or about to go to sleep so I keep my Moleskine with me at all times to jot them down.”

Tokyo Milk Petit Parfum Solides – “They are perfect fragrances because they are all-natural parfum solides that are compact and fit in your smallest purse.”

Tory Burch Revas – “I started wearing these shoes when I was pregnant. These are the only shoes I wear out and buy again and again in different colors.”

The Idler Wheel by Fiona Apple (CD only) – “She’s an amazing story-teller. That’s what makes her music interesting to me. Plus the lush orchestration and her voice are otherwordly.”

Trader Joe’s Pomegranate Seeds – “There are so many health benefits in these seeds and they are tasty. You can find me late at night in front of my open refrigerator double-fisting them with strawberries as a midnight snack.”

Anna Koplik Jewelry – “I love all of her vintage-inspired pieces. Affordable and unique.”

Proactiv Acne System – “I love it. I’ve been using it on and off for 10 years. When I launched Poetrie a few months ago, the stress was causing me to break out and it was my go-to because it works without fail.”

"So Waisted" High-Waist Shorts – “These shorts bring out my inner pinup girl. There’s something about these shorts that makes every girl look like she should be on a poster.”
