Matt Damon expertly reprises his role as super spy
Matt Damon returns to the big screen in the highly anticipated spy flick “Jason Bourne.” He has been hunted, presumed dead, replaced, and now he’s back to uncover the truth!
Plot: Our favorite onscreen, Jason Bourne is still living covertly and trying to remain under the radar of his foes. He is reunited with Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles), who is still trying to expose the wrong doings in the agency. Meanwhile, Bourne is remembering who he really is and in the process discovers how his father is involved. He is on a mission to uncover the truth at any cost, which spells death to someone close to him.
Engagement: This much awaited sequel did not disappoint. The edge-of-the-seat action will keep you riveted and the introduction of new friends and foes adds a twist to the plot. Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander) is an operative trying to prove her value to CIA Director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones), who believes Bourne is a threat to the agency and needs to be eliminated. Jones never fails to deliver in a role and that is the case here. He comes across magnificently as Bourne’s nemesis. Vikander’s character is exceptionally intriguing as it’s a bit ambiguous as to whether she is for or against Bourne. But time will time!
Style: The costuming and scenery are adequate to set the stage for this action film. I particular like the spy style of Heather, which is classic prep such as a grey cashmere cable knit sweater and wool top coat. Her outfits may be gender neutral to give her character a no-nonsense look, but are styled with panache. I’m on the hunt for the laptop case she sported—it’s so covert!
