GLOBAL — Leonardo DiCaprio has starred in three big screen movies this year including "Django," "The Great Gatsby" and his latest, "Wolf of Wall Street," which is based on a true story. Of the three successful films, the latter is what's rumored to bring him a best actor nod during award season. But you might wonder what sets this film apart from the others, especially "The Great Gatsby," in which there are glaring similarities between the two protagonists he plays, Jay Gatsby and Jordan Belfort – both are incredibly rich, both showcase their wealth on a grandiose scale, and both have an undeniable obsession with a blonde. But what sets F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1920's nouveau riche gent apart from Martin Scorsese's millennium millionaire is the attitude. There's no mistaking what Jordan Belfort, a shiesty stockbroker, wants out of life. It's plain and simple, he wants to be rich; not just regular rich, he's aiming for the filthy variety chock full of illegal drugs, loose women, and decadent parties. He's not apologetic about it either, not even when his business is investigated by the federal government, he wrecks his six-figure sports car, or learns his wife wants a divorce. He just shakes it off and keeps on scheming. DiCaprio captures Belfort's arrogant yet humorous persona with ease and takes a character you could easily hate and makes him likeable.
