Mission: Fashion Flashback To When It Was Chic To Be Clueless

Alicia Silverstone as Cher in "Clueless"

Global — There have been plenty of sartorial films in the past decade that flaunted to-die-for fashions on the big screen including "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sex and the City." But the other evening while watching Clueless (1995), an oldie but goodie, I was reminded of the sophisticated schoolgirl looks from the film that I still love today. The fashionable film not only introduced us to stylish clothes, but upcoming starlets too including Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, and the late Brittany Murphy.

Alicia Silverstone starred as Cher, a bright-eyed idealist and somewhat oblivious teenager who was BFFs with Dionne (Stacey Dash) and together they tried to refine the style of fellow classmate Tai (Brittany Murphy).

Yes, they were clueless on just about every level from relationships to academics, but we loved them, their hyper-chic fashion, and capricious nature. Oh, and let's not forget the très chic vocab they introduced us to with phrases like "as if" and "surfing the crimson wave."

But, I digress, what made us truly love this teen chick flick was the cute clothes like brightly colored plaid mini-skirt suits paired with Mary Jane pumps. It definitely tops the chart as one of my all time favorite fashion films.

I wonder if they'll ever do a remake? As if!
