Mission: Priceless Tiffany Diamond Gets New Setting

New York — For the 175th anniversary of Tiffany & Co., the Tiffany Diamond has a new look. Not Since Audrey Hepburn modeled the canary yellow diamond (set in a necklace) in 1961 for publicity photos to promote the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's," has the stone been worn. It was reset in 1995 in a "Bird on a Rock" design and has been on display in the Fifth Avenue Tiffany store since that time. Mined in 1877 in South Africa, the canary diamond was purchased by the store's founder Charles Lewis Tiffany to be cut into a priceless exhibition of Tiffany craftsmanship. To commemorate the 175th anniversary of Tiffany & Co., the 128.54 carat Tiffany Diamond will be reset again in a necklace and exhibited abroad.
