Istanbul — Recently, there’s been much buzz about what film will get an Oscar nod for being the best in film, acting, even costumes. Not surprisingly, Inception — the mind-twisting sci-fi thriller with psychedelic visuals — is one such film.
High-impact visual effects aren’t the only appeal to the Oscar-worthy film. The costuming stood out too. The suits worn by Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were particularly eye-catching.
The suits worn in “Inception” have been on exhibit in Cetintas Textile‘s headquarters in Istanbul. The company is proud to be appreciated for the quality of the textiles they have produced for more than 60 years. Because of the popularity of the film, they know that from here on out, they will be known as the company who designed the suits worn by Leonardo DiCaprio in “Inception.”
Oscar-nominated costume designer Jeffrey Kurland (Ocean’s Eleven, Erin Brockovich) and his team, recognized the quality of the suits produced by Cetintas Textile during the GlobalTex International Textile & Sourcing Fair in Los Angeles and requested that they produce suits for “Inception,” which at the time was called “Oliver’s Arrow.” The movie was shot from July to October in London and LA, giving Cetintas Textile a couple of months to meet production deadlines.
It’s a proud moment for the Turkey-based textile company having worked on a Hollywood film with big names such as DiCaprio and director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight), producing more than 100 suits.
