News Brief: ‘Mad Men’ Inspired Banana Republic Collection

June 20111943Views

WWW — Fashion gains inspiration from myriad places; an artist studio, ethnic cultures, even literature. So, it’s no surprise that the latest source was found on TV. For the past four years, Mad Men has lit up the small screen with its witty retro drama about the inner workings of an advertising agency and the “mad men” (as they were termed in the 60s) who run the business.

Banana republic is introducing a collection in August for men and women, reminiscent of 1960s era fashion with looks inspired by the popular show. The 65-piece collection will feature clothing and accessories including suits, dresses, ties, sweaters, hats, skirts, coats and blouses. [NY Times]

Will the Banana Republic Mad Men collection be on your to-buy list?
