Neiman Marcus models strike a pose after "The Beauty Event" runway show.
SCOTTSDALE — Neiman Marcus, one of my favorite fashion haunts, hosted "The Beauty Event," where customers and beauty insiders could see the latest cosmetic confections for spring including makeup, skincare, and fragrance. When I heard about this beauty bonanza I knew I had to attend, after all, my vanity needs a fresh restock for spring.
The event kicked off with a runway show featuring the newest products from Tom Ford, La Mer, Chantecaille, Clarins, Trish McEvoy, Natura Bissé, Jo Malone London, Lancôme, La Prairie, and Hermès. Each were showcased on trays carried by lithe models who strutted up and down the runway. Besides hearing about the latest in beauty offerings, onlookers had a chance to win prizes as names were randomly drawn during the show.
I couldn't resist stalking a few counters after the show. It was no surprise that almost every counter I visited was swamped with shoppers vying to sit in a makeup artist's chair or make a purchase, but my relentless nature wouldn't let me give up on getting more product scoop.

Chantecaille, a line I wasn't too familiar with, had an uber cute eye and cheek compact with a shark fin design. A 5% donation from Save the Sharks Palette goes to the Bloom Association, a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect oceans. I love beauty with benefit! Then there's Dior. A company I know well. I was introduced to their new product Airflash Spray Foundation and also discovered Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm. I tried it and it actually revived the natural hue in my lips. It's not new, but definitely a must-try.
Bobbi Brown, a line I've never tried, has myriad shades not only in lipsticks, shadows and blushes, but foundations too. I want to try their Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation with spf 15. There's 20 shades to choose from, so it should be easy finding a match. Tom Ford introduced sultry fragrances in gorgeous mahogany bottles. I'm enamored with the floral scent Café Rose Eau de Parfum.
There were so many beauty goodies to explore, it almost seemed like there wasn't enough time in the day, but it was so worth the excursion. If you decide to splurge, you'll get a free tote and beauty samples with your $125 or more purchase through March 3, 2013.
