London — We are always looking for ways to achieve lustrous locks, but whether we crave more shine, bounce or volume, perfect hair can sometimes be elusive. So, when expert hair stylist Paul Yacomine – who has tamed the tresses of supermodels including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Elle MacPherson – reached out to me to review his latest hair care line, specifically the Colour Collection Kit and the Micro Restart Shampoo, I jumped at the opportunity.
The Colour Collection Kit, which is the only product available in the US currently at Sephora, contains three products for maintaining healthy hair that has been dyed: Microfinish for conditioning and shine, Micro Colourcare for intense color conditioning, and Micro Treatment Oils for protection against the elements and smoothing down the hair cuticle.
The Micro Restart Shampoo is described as an intensive detox shampoo to clean and rejuvenate the hair, while restoring bounce, shine and manageability.
The Mission: I have enlisted a Chic Spy Agent who loves to dye her hair. Her latest color is a rich auburn red. The day before she dyed her hair, she tried the Micro Restart Shampoo. She did not notice any drastic difference but wants to use the product for a while before judging its effectiveness. However, after the first use of the Micro Colourcare and Micro Treatments Oils from the Colour Collection Kit, she was pleasantly surprised by its immediate results.
"My hair was a knotted mess. After applying the first two steps, my hair was easy to detangle and the comb was able to go straight through my hair," she says. "Normally, without conditioner, I have a difficult time getting a comb through my hair."
