Rouge Polish Has Bold Color and Sleek Design
GLOBAL — Those signature red sole Christian Louboutin heels are unmistakeable and have been known to cause women to bankrupt accounts and designers to get sued, but who knew one day we’d be able to add Louboutin to our beauty arsenal? The French designer has joined the likes of Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford to launch beauty products, with the introduction of a signature Rouge Louboutin red nail polish inspired by the designer’s “Ballerina Ultima” heels (below), highest yet for the brand, which were designed in 2007. The red and black ombre bottle has a stiletto-like cap, reminiscent of the heels.
“The red sole was born from red nail polish. I am giving back to nails what the shoe took from the nails many years ago.” ~ Christian Louboutin, christianlouboutin.com
You know about the iconic shoes, but what about their origins? According to urban shoe legend, the first pair of Louboutins were created more than 20 years ago when Louboutin used his assistant’s red nail polish to paint the bottom of a pair of shoes. What a way to pay homage to humble beginnings, with bold polish in a luxurious bottle!
A full palette of Louboutin polishes are set to release in September. oh la la, I can’t wait!
