There Will Be Fun In the Sun At the Historic Hotel
GLOBAL — This is the season known for getaways, but quite frankly, any time is perfect for a weekend getaway, if all the right elements are present such as fabulous fashion, a beautiful destination, and superb accommodations. We’re currently planning a fashion photo shoot that will encompass all these. The guest star will be SJ Couture‘s collection of white dresses, which will be worn by Phoenix Fashion Week models. The host will be Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Arizona, which was the first hotel in the area to combine Southwestern and modern design. With an exterior that shoots like a vintage postcard and interiors worthy of a Mad Men‘s episode, Hotel Valley Ho is the ideal location for a warm-weather inspired shoot featuring billowy dresses, colorful flip flops, and eye-catching accessories.
The hotel, which has been around since 1956, is nestled in the Southwestern desert amidst statuesque palm trees and a backdrop of mountain peaks. Besides beautiful scenery, the hotel is also notable for being a celebrity haunt back in the day with a guest list reading like a Who’s Who in old Hollywood actors including Janet Leigh from Alfred Hitchcock‘s Psycho (1960) and Natalie Wood from West Side Story (1961), who held her 1957 wedding reception with Robert Wagner, at the hotel. As if that weren’t enough to make you fall in love with the oasis in the desert, one of the hotel’s pools is designed to resemble a martini glass with an olive – James Bond might like his martinis shaken not stirred, but I prefer mine poolside.
Chicly Yours,
