SCOTTSDALE — When it comes to getting the scoop on the latest beauty trends, few deliver it as chicly as Neiman Marcus does during their annual beauty event. It was a ‘pretty in pink’ affair, right down to neon pink totes we’d soon fill with beauty swag. The ambiance was perfect; the runway lined with bamboo chairs set up in the shoe salon, where just a glance away were some of the most crave-worthy shoes from designers such as Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. But what we all gathered to get a peak at, were the must-have beauty products for spring – and there was a bevy of beauty bijoux to covet.
While sipping pink champagne and nibbling crystalized sugar cookies in the shape of nail polish bottles and lips, guests were regaled with the latest and greatest products from leading beauty brands. Chiseled young men, dressed in black jeans and T-shirts baring the event logo, served up beauty samples on white and pink lacquer trays. There were more than 20 samplings running the gamut from Chantecaille Biodynamic Lifting Neck Cream, $165, to an absolutely to-die-for scent called Aqua Vitae Fragrance from Maison Francis Kurkdjian (below), who created fragrances for fashion houses such as Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. But, it wouldn’t be a beauty mission without a few new discoveries such as an the Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel, $60, that has the consistency of a powder and when dampened it’s used to exfoliate the face. There were a few of my faves too including Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne, $60-$115.
