GLOBAL — In one week, The Carrie Diaries makes its small screen debut. I can't wait to see Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb), once again, walk the streets of Manhattan. The next trend on my Carrie Countdown is color blocking. In the new series, Carrie meets her mentor Larissa, a brash party girl who is the style editor for "Interview" magazine, founded by the king of the Pop Art movement Andy Warhol. Larissa's style is the epitome of the era with angular silhouettes, mixed prints, and bold color – reminiscent of Warhol's bold and bright art. But not everyone can pull off a palette of head-to-toe brights.
If wearing an outfit chock full of different colors is not your style, a good alternative is a color blocked accessory such as a handbag or shoes. The chunky look and colorful design of the "One in the Frame Heel" platform is a chic homage to the color block trend. It would be very Carrie with a black tulle skirt, sequin tee, and bright cardigan.
