Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor George Clooney, is officially off the market.
Proposing on bended knee to Lebanese-born lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, the two showed off the engagement ring while at a dinner in Santa Barbara, California. Accompanied by friends Cindy Crawford, and her husband Rande Gerber, Alamuddin flaunted the 7-carat emerald cut diamond by delicately placing her hand on the back of Clooney’s neck. Despite the fact that the two have not made an official announcement, they are definitely not keeping it a secret. According to People, Clooney made a trip to Dubai in March to meet Alamuddin’s family. Clooney hit it off with her siblings as they all cruised on a luxury yacht.
However, even with this amazing news for the newly engaged couple, one can only wonder what made Clooney switch from beauties who model, act, even wait tables to a beauty who tries court cases. Not to mention that it has been no secret that Clooney had no desire to walk down the aisle again. He famously told Barbara Walters in a 1995 interview that he wouldn’t marry again “because I wasn’t very good at it.”
Now after coming full circle, Clooney has changed up his type of woman once again by dating a successful lawyer. The only difference, however, is that in less than one year; Clooney has put a ring on it. How did this Oxford-educated beauty change the game? We may have a hunch.
To start, Alamuddin is not just a pretty face who landed the number one spot of London’s Hottest Barrister list, she is also an Oxford graduate who specializes in international law, human rights, and criminal law. Let us also not forget that she speaks three languages: English, Arabic, and French.
To put it frankly, the girl has got it going on. It may be safe to say that Clooney has finally met his match!
George Clooney has dated his fair share of bachelorettes within the past twenty years, only one of which has made it to the altar. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
1980s
Clooney met actress Dedee Pfeiffer, sister of Michelle Pfeiffer, on the set of the movie “Red Surf” where the two co-starred. The relationship did not last long, but that did not stop Clooney from moving on.
