Soda giant overestimates it’s power of persuasion
Hot off the press is the Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial, and saying it’s steeped in controversy is putting it mildly. The internet is in an uproar, specifically on Twitter, about the implications of the not-so-sensitive ad regarding protesters. I personally watched the commercial, and frankly, I’m not sure what’s more shocking, Kendall whipping off her wig and handing it to an African American women waiting in the wings, or her scene reminiscent of a Black Lives Matter protest, when a young African-American woman stands before a police line, just before being arrested. But in the commercial featuring Kendall Jenner, the model casually hands over a Pepsi to a stoic police officer, and voila, he’s strikes a smile, as if that’s all it takes. Well, Twitter wasn’t feeling this ad, neither was!

Other Tweeters are not mincing words in their Twitter responses to the soda giant:
Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi ad has caused a boycott. I guess tooth decay, heart disease, obesity, & diabetes was never a good enough reason.

My 13-year-old on Kendall Jenner’s @pepsi ad: “So all I gotta do is carry Pepsi to hand to cops & I’ll never have to worry about anything.”
